In History this term, the children in Year 4 are learning about Henry VIII and the Reformation. At the moment, we have heard why he wanted to “break away from Rome” - that is, to move away from the Catholic Church and the Pope, and start the Church of England.
The class learnt that Henry VIII wanted a divorce, but the Pope said, “No!”
Our pictures show Henry VIII asking first Cardinal Wolsey, then Thomas More and finally Thomas Cromwell to sort out his problem! If any parents are watching Wolf Hall on the BBC, then they may know all about this part of our country’s rich history!
